The St. Louis Rams Community Player of the Week is running back
A player who truly values service, Chase constantly makes himself available to help out those in need. Specifically, Chase and his wife Kila have taken a leadership role in their support of the American Cancer Society. They have their hands in many of the organization’s initiatives like the Road to Recovery, the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, the CPS-3 Study Cancer study and most recently, the efforts in conjunction with A Crucial Catch Campaign.. Last Thursday evening before the Rams’ Breast Cancer Awareness game, Chase recruited several of his teammates to join breast cancer survivors at Rams Park for a reception in their honor.
Earlier this season, Chase attended the Make-A-Wish Celebrity Server Dinner. During the event he competed with his teammates as he collected tip donations by signing autographs and taking photos with guests. By the end of the evening, Chase had helped the Rams to raise enough money to fund 56 wishes for local children facing life-threatening diseases.
But his commitment to St. Louis’ youngest generation doesn’t stop there.
This May, Chase volunteered at the inaugural Rams PLAY 60 Field Day. The event at Rams Park rewarded 450 St. Louis area students who participated in the PLAY 60 Challenge throughout the school year for a day of fitness challenges and fun activities. Chase was on hand to teach the importance of an active lifestyle and help the kids run drills. In June, Chase volunteered at the High School Player Development football camp, golfed in the Rams/March of Dimes Golf Challenge and played in the Jeff Fisher and Friends Celebrity Softball game benefiting five charities.
“Chase has been a tremendous addition to the Rams family and our charitable efforts,” said Molly Higgins, vice president of corporate communications/civic affairs, St. Louis Rams. “He is always more than willing to assist us in the community and we are particularly proud of Chase and Kila’s dedication to the American Cancer Society. They have played a key role in propelling our partnership with ACS to another level.”
