Hull, Gibson and Fletcher Share Holiday Spirit with Basket of Hope Delivery

Posted Apr 12, 2012

Although it seems spring came much earlier this year, Basket of Hope still had plenty of time to prepare for their annual Easter basket delivery. This year, Rams linebacker Josh Hull, wide receiver Brandon Gibson and cornerback Bradley Fletcher assisted in spreading hope and delivering Easter baskets through the non-profit organization Basket of Hope. With Fletcher taking over Shriner’s Hospital for Children and Hull and Gibson teaming up to blanket Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, Basket of Hope was able to give over 200 kids something to smile about this Easter.

Basket of Hope exists to give hope to newly diagnosed children and their families affected by cancer or other serious illnesses. The St. Louis Rams have been supporting Basket of Hope for many years and even assisted this year’s Super Bowl initiative, Super Basket of Hope.

Hull recognizes the opportunity as more than just a special day for the kids. “It’s a great opportunity,” says Hull. “I really feel blessed to be from the situation I am to be able to give back to these kids that are going through something that I can’t really understand.  It it means a lot to me to be able to do this. It’s really fun to interact with the kids and just see a little sparkle in their eye. It’s not necessarily the most fun place for them to be in, so anything I can do to lighten the day really means a lot.”

With an overflowing basket of toys and gifts, hopefully the kids will be able to keep that sparkle in their eye for many days to come.
