Wake Up Sprinting: Game Day in Miami

Posted Aug 28, 2014

The Rams will take on the Dolphins tonight at 6:00 p.m. CDT on FOX 2 in the team's final game of the preseason.

Good morning, Rams Fam.

It’s Thursday, August 28, which is not only the penultimate day of your work week, but it’s also the final preseason game day of 2014. Here’s what you need to know to get going on your day.

RAMS TAKE ON THE DOLPHINS

The Rams will take on the Dolphins tonight in Miami to end preseason action. St. Louis head coach Jeff Fisher said on Tuesday that the coaching staff was still working through how much the starters will play tonight, but has said before that the team does have players who need some game action.

This game is much more about players on the cusp of making the roster. Look for lots of younger guys to make plays as it’s their only remaining chance to make a lasting impression.

WHO TO WATCH FOR

Tonight’s game is the first chance to see Shaun Hill as the Rams’ starting quarterback. Though he likely won’t play much -- if at all -- agains the Dolphins, it’s worth keeping an eye on him to see how he jells with his receivers. Fisher has expressed nothing but full confidence in the quarterback, and there’s every reason to believe he can lead St. Louis to success in 2014.

HOW GOOD IS THE DEFENSE?

Chris Long spoke to the media on Tuesday about the Rams’ defense and how good the unit can be this season. Here’s everything he had to say.

GAME TIME

The Rams and Dolphins will kick off tonight at 6:00 p.m. CDT. You can catch play-by-play man Andrew Siciliano, analysts Marshall Faulk and Torry Holt, and sideline reporters Casey Phillips and Martin Kilcoyne on FOX 2 and the Rams Broadcasting Network. On the radio, Steve Savard has your play-by-play with analyst D’Marco Farr, and Will Witherspoon on the sideline.
